Hwy 5 Partially Blocked due to Truck Fire

UPDATE: Highway 5 between Merritt and Kamloops is now open in both directions.

A portion of Highway Five has been blocked due to a truck fire.

According to DriveBC, the northbound lane at Surrey Lake Summit was blocked off just before 9 a.m. Friday morning.

The cause seems to be from a truck fire.

Early reports indicates that RCMP are allowing people to pass the incident.
