Caitlyn Jenner sends President Trump a message on trans rights

Just as the new U.S. administration is presumably scaling back transgender rights, one very well known transgender woman is speaking out.

President Donald Trump rescinded the Obama administration’s directive on school bathrooms on Wednesday, which had allowed transgender students to use the washroom they most identify with.

On Thursday, former Olympian and transgender woman Caitlyn Jenner posted a video to Twitter with a strong message on the topic, “from one republican to another.”

“This is a disaster, and you can still fix it,” she said, directing the sentiment to the President. “You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.”

While it may seem like a step backwards, Jenner assured transgender kids, they are winning.

“Very soon, we'll win full freedom nationwide, and it’s going to happen with bipartisan support,” she said.

She also had a message for so-called bullies (pointing fingers at some in the administration), who she said are “sick.”

“Because you are weak you pick on kids, you pick on women and anyone else you feel is vulnerable.

The video has been met with a mix of reactions, considering Jenner is an open republican who voted for Trump.

Do you think Caitlyn Jenner's message is a welcome one? Let us known in the comments below.
