TRU Partnership With Netherlands University Opens the World

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) will be joining forces with Netherlands's best applied sciences university to offer a double degree in tourism.

TRU VP of Academic Dr. Ulrich Scheck suggested that this is an excellent opportunity for their students and those at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences.

Scheck suggested that this program allows students to earn a double degree that will equip students to be ready to get into the international travel industry.

TRU's Bachelor of Tourism Management students will attend NHTV in their fourth year and earn a second credential either in international tourism management or international leisure management.

TRU students will travel to the beautiful city of Breda in southern Netherlands to complete their fourth year of studies.

When students are attending the other university it will be a hands-on project based experience that will enable students to have the skills necessary to be successful in the tourism industry.

TRU's European lead Dr. Kathleen Scherf suggests that the partnership between the two universities will be essential to opening a world of opportunities to students at both institutions.
