It’s official… Canadian are in love with Prince Williams.
In a random sampling of public opinions taken by the Forum Poll, Prince William is the favourite royal family member.
More than a quarter of the 1,326 Canadian adults survey said they have a strong love for William. Females admire him the most with 42 per cent picking him, compared to only 21 per cent of males.
“Canada loves its Royal Family, despite the republican grumblings of a slight minority. It’s just that Canada doesn’t love all its royal family members equally. It seems clear that the appearance of Prince William and his glamorous wife on the scene, and their impending trip here, has galvanized popular interest in the succession again, with the predictable result that most Canadians want to skip a royal, something which there is no historical or constitutional precedent,” explained Forum Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
“It is curious to note, however, that while close to a third say they do not admire the royal family at all, only about a tenth say they will not follow the royal visit at all.”
In second place is the Duchess of Cambridge, formerly Kate Middleton.
Third place goes to Prince Harry with 13 per cent loving him.
Few other royals are admired and those include Prince Charles (6 per cent), Prince Philip (4 per cent), Prince George (2 per cent) and Princess Charlotte (2 per cent).
Close to a 4-in-10 said that Prince William is the best choice to be Canada’s next King or Head of State.
What do you think about the royal family? Almost all Canadians (85 per cent), say their opinion on the monarchy hasn’t changed in the past five years.
