A few things for an awesome weekend in Kamloops

If you’re looking for somewhere to hangout this Friday or Saturday, we’ve got your weekend events roundup:

Live music and comedy

At Mission Delores and Jackson Gardner from the band Gleneagle will be at Red Collar on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free but space is limited, so show up early for some pre-tunes brews.

Red Beard Cafe is hosting a night of tapas and music on Sunday in the spirit of Las Fallas, an annual March festival in Spain. They’ll be serving up dozens of tapas for an all-you-can eat feast with live music by Deux Bop. Ticket price is $60 and includes two drinks, all the food you can eat and live entertainment. Mac Lethal is making a stop in Kamloops along his Canadian tour and will be at CJ’s Night Club on Saturday for an early show from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The hip-hop artists has been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. Tickets are $20 and available at 808 & Bench or online.

“Bad boy of comedy” Kris Labelle with be at On The Rocks for a standup show on Saturday with special guests Brette Forte and Todd Ness. The show is 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 in advance at the bar.

Mostly Marley will be at the Blue Grotto Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 8 p.m. Cover is $5 and it’s a 21-plus show.

Rosemary Siemens and the Sweet Sound Revival will be at the Stage House Theatre on Saturday for a night of bluegrass, gospel and country. Tickets are $20 and available online.

Canadian comic Noor Kidwai will be at the Rock‘n Firkin for a standup show on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs is bringing their show to the Sagebrush Theatre Friday. The Pigs on the Wing show celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd's 1977 classic album Animals. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $42.50 and are available online.

Fitness

For all the runners in the city, the Dirty Feet Trail Run is happening Saturday at Lac du Bois. Five-, 10- and 21-kilometre courses open. Race package pickup is Friday from 4 p.m.to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Quiznos, 1395 Hillside Dr., beside Runners Sole. A shuttle to start line will pick racers up at the Dirty Jersey. Check out the Dirty Feet website for more information or to register.

Truly relax with this Saturday workshop: Yoga for a Balanced Self at Kamloops Hot Yoga. This session is all about learning to improve your mental health, as yoga is proven to be a beneficial tool in addressing depression and anxiety. The workshop runs 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Sahali Studio. Cost is $45 for non-members and everyone will receive a community resource guide. Enroll online.

Community

For those looking forward to a summer of gardening, the Kamloops Cooperative Gardening Network is hosting an Introduction to Permaculture workshop. The course is packed with simple tips and tricks to grow a beautiful garden. Tickets are $157 and available online.

The Kamloops Artisan Winter Market is every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sahali Centre Mall. Browse the work of artists and crafters and support local home-based businesses.
