Things you need to know
1. It’s 420
If it smells a little skunky in the air today, it’s probably because it’s April 20th, better known in the weed community as 420. While there won’t be a ton going on in Kamloops, large gatherings will take place in many cities across North America to celebrate weed culture. With legalization on the horizon for July 2018, this could be one of the last 420s where marijuana is still illegal.

2. Gronk crashes Sean Spicer’s press briefing during White House trip
The New England Patriots visited the White House yesterday, minus Tom Brady, and Rob Gronkowski was up to his usual shenanigans. The big tight end could be seen poking his head out from back stage and asked if Spicer needed any help. The Press Secretary cracked a smile and told the big man that he had it under control.

3. The Simpsons turned 30 yesterday
We missed this yesterday, but it’s such a big milestone it needs to be acknowledged. The Simpsons turned 30 years old on Wednesday. The show first aired on The Tracy Ullman Show on April 19th, 1987 and is still going strong three decades later.

4. Pemberton says the lineup is coming next week
There has been some serious concern over B.C.’s biggest music festival. Promises of a late March lineup release turned into claims that it would be out in the first week of April, at which point the festival organizers delayed again. Now they say it’s done and just one small step away from being released, which will happen next week. You can likely expect the lineup on Monday or Tuesday, with tickets going on sale later in the week.
5. The Calgary Flames are out of the playoffs
The first team to be knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs is the Calgary Flames. The Flames dropped a 3-1 decision to Anaheim on Wednesday night, which completed a 4-0 series sweep for the Ducks. The Flames will now hit the links, while Anaheim awaits the winner of the Edmonton and San Jose series in round two.
