Mosquitoes: The most dreaded summer annoyance! Far too often we are forced indoors and away from our outdoor spaces to avoid the consent buzz, slaps and itching of the pesky mosquito. Natural mosquito repellents have long been a topic of conversation among those who live an active, outdoor lifestyle. Trying to enjoy a bonfire or a pool party while there’s a swarm of mosquitoes is just plain torture. The conversation has increased with the recent media surrounding the Zika Virus (& the West Nile Virus), as most of us would prefer to keep our outdoor areas pest free - without using harmful, chemical repellents.
The challenge is that many of our outdoor spaces, such as decks, balconies and swimming pools don't have landscaped areas close enough for the plants to work effectively. Not to worry, we have a solution! You can use decorative planters to plant some of these natural repellents, they can then be strategically placed in areas around the pool and seating areas to provide protection from mosquitoes.
