According to local media reports, a bomb was set off near the Erawan Shrine in the Chidlom district of Thailand’s capital on Monday, August 17th.

Thai travel blogger Richard Barrow has been live-tweeting from the scene and says that at least 15 people are dead and 80 are injured. The death toll and the number of injuries have not been confirmed by police.

Tourists have been reported among the dead, and the blast closed down businesses, public transit, and nearby schools.
Details of the blast are slim are this time, but initial reports state that there was more than one bomb.
