An Air Canada plane slid off the runway upon arrival at Toronto's Pearson International Airport on Saturday morning amongst heavy fog and rain.
Flight AC 623 was arriving in Toronto from Halifax and carrying 112 passengers.

According to Isabelle Arthur, Manager of Media relations and Manager of the Air Canada Foundation, the aircraft only left the runway for a short distance and all passengers were tended to by Air Canada staff.
“Preliminary information indicates that upon landing in Toronto after arriving from Halifax the aircraft landing gear left the runway for a short distance before returning on the runway,” said Arthur. “Our focus was to quickly bus our passengers to the airport where they were met by, and tended to by a team of Air Canada employees and managers.”
“We have provided connecting passengers with hotel accommodations and limousines for those wishing to head home.”
According to Arthur, no injuries have been reported and passenger’s luggage will be returned once maintenance is completed.
“We are relieved that no injuries have been reported,” said Arthur. “[Passengers] luggage will be delivered once maintenance and the authorities have finished reviewing events.”
Arthur also apologized on behalf of Air Canada for the inconvenience.
”We apologize for the inconvenience and will be in touch with our customers to follow up on the event and ensure they are all well taken care of.”
