March 25th also marks the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome and established the European Economic Community. Protesters also hit the streets of Rome in solidarity with the London marchers.
Brexit is a portmanteau of "Britain" and "exit" and marks the day on June 23rd, 2016 when the United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union. The vote was a close split, with 51.9 per cent in favour. That leaves 48.1 per cent of the UK left to march.
