Lights out across the world for #EarthHour

Canadians and earthlings all over the world are shutting down their power for an hour tonight.

Earth Hour lands on March 25th from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time.

Concerned citizens of the planet took to Twitter to spread the news and get others on board for the hour of shutdown power.

Earth Hour was started by the World Wild Life Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is to encourage people to turn off non-essential lights for an hour.

Lights out for an hour originated in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and has continued ever since.
