Lethbridge Police are doing their best to deter some indecent acts around town.
“Over the past few months, police have responded to what has become a chronic problem with couples engaging in indecent acts near the Elks Compound,” said a statement from the department. “Sex acts are occurring in green spaces, in view of other citizens lawfully using the park.”

Not only are they being noticed by the public, but also by police officers doing routine patrols, which don’t seem to be doing much to prevent these acts from happening.
Lethbridge police say they have increased these patrols and are working with the parks department to have trees trimmed and brush removed.
They’re hoping less hiding spots will lead to less incidents, but it doesn’t seem like these couples are too concerned with hiding.
To date, police have only issued warning to the numerous offenders, but are advising that criminal charges may be possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
“Police will continue to actively patrol the river valley and other parks and green spaces to ensure this indecent activity is not simply displaced to other public areas.”
Sounds like it’s going to be a fun summer in Lethbridge.
