The Canadian Forces Snowbirds are taking a break from airshows for the month of May to undergo intense training.
A list of cancellations has been posted on the Snowbirds' Facebook page.
According to Leftenant Michele Tremblay, the need for more training had to do with the weather.
"We were cursed, if you will, by bad weather," said Tremblay. "In our spring training in Comox, the weather unfortunately was a lot of rain, so we had to cancel a lot of practices.
The teams normally practice twice a day, consistently, but they haven't been able to get in the usual amount of hours.
The team also has three new pilots.
"Now if we keep cancelling because of bad weather everywhere, it starts to show on the team," said Tremblay.
The team is scheduled to train until their next air show, scheduled for June 4th.
The snowbirds' last airshow was early May when the team flew over Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
