B.C.'s biggest music festival is gone and that's not even the worst for music fans in the province.
As news broke yesterday that Pemberton Music Festival abruptly canceled its 2017 festival, it quickly became apparent that ticket refunds will not be easy to come by due to lawsuits and bankruptcies.
Enter Ontario’s epic WayHome Music & Arts Festival.
The Toronto based festival began two years ago, and has steadily drawn a summer music crowd with incredible headliners.
Among this year’s headlining acts over the July weekend are Flume, Solange, Imagine Dragons, and Frank Ocean.
Not bad.
Organizers of one of Toronto’s favourite festivals wanted to make sure music fans didn’t miss out on that summer feeling, and have offered up free admission to anyone who has purchased tickets for the tcancelled festival.
That is correct. If you hold a ticket for #PembyFest you can get a free general admission weekend pass to WayHome, which is currently going for $249.99 CA plus tax.
“First and foremost, we are music fans, and as such belong to an international community that share in our mutual successes and disappointments,” said Republic Live Partner, Eva Dunford, in a statement. “It’s saddening to hear of the struggles Pemberton Music Festival organizers are dealing with, and therefore want to help by honouring all purchased ticket holders with a free pass to WayHome this summer”
To redeem your tickets, you’ll need to send a copy of the unique confirmed ticket to [email protected]. WayHome’s offer is open until June 30, and of course, they will authenticate all requests. Tickets will be redeemed on a one for one basis, and will not include camping, parking or VIP offers.
Plus, you’ll get to see the glory of Ontario summers.
WayHome will be taking place July 28 to 30 at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, in Oro-Medonte, Ontario.
