Ground-breaking rock and roll guitarist and pioneer, Chuck Berry has passed away. The legendary musician was 90 years-old.
It was confirmed by the St. Charles County Police Department’s Facebook page that the icon had passed away after they responded to a medical emergency call in St. Charles, Missouri.
The emergency personnel on scene attempted to revive him numerous times to which he was unresponsive, the cause of death remains unknown.
Musicians and music lovers alike can thank and cherish Berry for his expansive and truly remarkable strides made for the Rock and Roll genre. His fusion of Blues and Country morphed into an iconic sound that has since been the foundation for some of today’s biggest bands like The Rolling Stones.

In 1955, Berry had his first hit with “Maybellene”, and from then on he continued to change the musical landscape for the better with his signature sound, and moves.
Berry gifted us with a plethora of incredible tracks like “Johnny B. Goode”, “St. Louis Blues”, “Roll Over Beethoven” and many more.
Thanks to Chuck Berry we have had the glorious gift of Rock and Roll bestowed upon us alongside remarkable bands and musicians who idolized him.
His legacy will live on through his incredible music, his exponential impact on the music industry and his family.
