Those on unemployment in the U.S. may soon have to pee in a cup to get their benefits.
Recently, 54th Speak of the House Paul Ryan drafted a bill that would allow states to drug test those receiving federal unemployment benefits.
Next, the bill will go over to President Donald Trump’s desk to potentially be passed. So far, many of his policies have put more power in the hands of the states, making this one very plausible.
Even the policy is still up in the air, many people are speaking out against it.
Drug testing as a condition of eligibility for receiving necessary benefits is scientifically, fiscally, and constitutionally unsound. https://t.co/mSMZzfZmJw

This weekend, @HouseGOP took a quick break from their war on affordable healthcare to shame the poor & stigmatize the unemployed. https://t.co/CQbLICiRx9

Drug tests have proven to be expensive & ineffective. Utah got .2 positive from welfare pop. vs. 6% in all othershttps://t.co/aPPinuZt2y https://t.co/LduzPpX4hh
