There’s been another terrorist attack in London and once again it was executed with a van.

The 48-year-old suspect mowed down pedestrians outside a mosque on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park.

Police were called shortly after midnight on Monday and attended the scene immediately.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene and eight others were taken to hospital.

Before police arrived, the suspect was restrained by angry members of the public, but an Imam from the mosque stepped in before crowds could get violent.

Videos show the Imam shouting “don’t touch him,” asking the crowd to hand him over to police and let them do their jobs.

“I would like to thank those people who helped police in detaining the man and worked with officers to calmly and quickly get him into our custody,” said police commissioner Cressida Dick. “Their restraint in the circumstances was commendable.”

The attack took place while mosque-goers were observing Ramadan.

In response, the London Metropolitan Police says extra resources have been deployed to make sure communities, especially those observing Ramadan, feel safe.
