Next month, Sesame Street will officially debut a new Muppet named Julia who is on the Autism spectrum.

Characters and creators of the show appeared on 60 Minutes on Sunday night to discuss the introduction of Julia and what they’ve come to learn about her condition.

Julia is part of the show’s new nationwide initiative called Sesame Street and Autism, which was introduced in the fall to bring a greater understanding to autism.

In the U.S., one in 68 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, making it more common than cancer and juvenile diabetes.

So far, people on social media seem thrilled to see this representation.
