The original Batman will be honoured in the most fitting way possible on Thursday night.
In a tribute to the late Adam West, a bat signal will be projected into the sky over Los Angeles.

Los Angeles mayor, Eric Garcetti, made the announcement via social media on Wednesday.
The iconic bat symbol will be shone from City Hall and will light up the California night sky, just like in the comics, movies and T.V. show.
West primarily played Batman primarily 1966-1968, but reprised the role several times for cameos or animated series over his long career.
He died last week at the age of 88 after a short battle with Leukemia.

Tributes have been pouring in from across the globe since West died, including some kind words from his former Robin sidekick, Burt Ward.
"I am devastated at the loss of one of my very dearest friends," said Ward in a statement. “In my eyes, there was only one real Batman that is and always will be Adam West.”
