UPDATE:
RCMP has lifted the lockdown on a Kamloops Elementary School following a threat that was phoned in.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m. police were called to Summit Elementary School after someone called the school and indicated they had a weapon. The scene was cordoned off and the school was deemed safe around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police set up a meeting place for parents at Pineridge Elementary School to receive information. The outer perimeter of the school was then cleared before students were bussed to Pineridge to be met by parents.
The investigation into the origin of the call is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.

Kamloops RCMP have confirmed that officers are on the scene of Summit Elementary School in Kamloops following threats.
Police were notified at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday that threats were made towards the school but no immediate threat to staff or students.

The elementary school is currently under lockdown as a precaution as police investigate.
Parents are being advised to go to Pine Ridge Elementary School located at 1770 Springview Place for more information, which is also where students will be bused.
