Kamloops area MP Cathy McLeod announced funding for a local organization to help equip Kamloops young people with the skills they need to find employment.
L.T.D. Consulting will receive $278,000 to assist 48 youth in this city to gain the skills and experience required to make the successful transition from school to the job market.
Group workshops will help the youth improve useful job skills such as effective communication or teamwork. The participants will gain employment experience in areas such as construction and landscaping.

“Today’s youth are tomorrow’s workforce, so by investing in them, we are helping contribute to Canada’s long-term growth, competitiveness and overall prosperity," said McLeod.
McLeod said that through this project she believes that youth in Kamloops will gain skills that they need to enter the workforce.
The Kamloops area MP touted that these youth will join more than half a million young Canadians who have already benefited from the federal Government’s Youth Employment Strategy.
The Liberals and NDP continue to question whether the government's programs are helping the middle class in the country in a meaningful way.
