The newest round of community gaming grants has resulted in over $92,000 heading towards the Kamloops area.
Six different Kamloops organizations have gotten a boost of $92,960 in community gaming grants this round from the provincial government. The Kamloops and District Minor Baseball Association was awarded the biggest grant at $30,600. Meanwhile, the Arnica Artist Run Centre Society and the Kamloops Minor Lacrosse Association received $22,500 and $18,000 respectively.

“These grants create many opportunities for local youth to become involved in organized sports and arts groups,” Kamloops–South Thompson MLA Todd Stone said. “By supporting sports and culture, we are ensuring that our community remains vibrant and strong with cultural and physical activities the whole family can enjoy.”
“Kamloops has many organizations that support residents’ artistic and athletic pursuits,” Kamloops–North Thompson MLA Terry Lake said. “From drama groups and visual arts venues to fitness clubs and sports organizations, there are so many options to become involved in organizations that suit anyone’s interests.”

The community gaming grant program lets non-profit groups apply for provincial gaming revenues for their programs. In May, about $7 million in grants is going to about 200 sport and arts and culture groups around B.C.
