A 67-year-old mushroom picker from Lytton has been located safe and sound. According to Kamloops Search and Rescue President Alan Hobler, the man was picking mushrooms with a group and got separated from them.
He found himself working in a burnout pile when it started raining, making conditions very slippery. The man had a bad knee so he decided to “hunker down” for the night.
“He did the right thing, he made a shelter, had a fire and waited it out,” said Hobler. The man was located around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday and is said to be in good condition. He did not require any medical treatment.
