Scotiabank will be helping business students in Kamloops as $150,000 for awards and bursaries at Thompson Rivers University was announced on Friday.
A total of nine annual awards will be given out for the next five years starting in the fall of 2015 for domestic, international, and Aboriginal students in the School of Business and Economics.
“These terrific awards not only recognize deserving students in the School of Business and Economics, our most intercultural faculty, but also increase student success, increase intercultural understanding, and entrepreneurial capacity in the region, three of our important strategic priorities,” said Alan Shaver, Thompson Rivers University President and Vice-Chancellor.
Three awards of $3,000 will be awarded to students majoring in New Venture Creation within the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma (PBD) programs.
Three awards of $3,000 will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in the Small Business Management course within the BBA.
Two $3,000 bursaries will be given to students majoring or minoring in New Venture Creation within the BBA and PBD programs.
One $6,000 award will be given to a student majoring in New Venture Creation within the BBC or PBD programs, who submits a winning business plan.
