Fast Eddy, formally known as Edward Dostaler, from Kamloops began his journey to run across Canada back on March 1st. The trail began in Victoria and now, nearly seven months later, he’s almost at his final destination; St John’s Newfoundland.
However, on September 19th, Dostaler found out he only had five days to make it to Sydney, Nova Scotia, before the ferry retires for the winter season on September 25th, which is just over 420 kilometres. Dostaler estimated he would have to run 85 kilometres a day to make it in time and has since been pushing to meet his deadline.

As of September 23rd, Dostaler has reached Baddeck, N.S. which is approximately 55 kilometres from Sydney N.S.
He will make his way back across Canada once he reaches St John’s.
Dostaler is raising money for both Alzheimer and breast cancer research and awareness through his cross-country journey.
