Startup Canada is recognizing Kamloops Innovation at their 2015 awards ceremony.
Kamloops Innovation has been awarded the Startup Canada Award for Entrepreneurship Support and will received their accolade in Vancouver on Wednesday.
“The Kamloops Startup Community is being recognized on a national level for inspiring entrepreneurs to start up, grow, and prosper in our region,” said Executive Director Lincoln Smith. “A vibrant Startup Community mentors you, shows what is possible, helps you get up after you fall, and celebrates when you succeed. This is what we have in Kamloops.”
CEO of Hummingbird Drones Robert Atwood will also receive the Startup Canada Young Entrepreneur Award for British Columbia. Robert and a team of TRU students began the drone service with help through the TRU Generator and are currently participating in the BCIC Venture Acceleration Program at Kamloops Innovation.
“Startup Canada Award winners and runners-up are architects of a better future for Canada for entrepreneurs,” said CEO of Startup Canada Victoria Lennox. “As champions of the entrepreneurship movement, they deserve to be celebrated to the highest degree. Thank you and congratulations to all nominees and winners for elevating the efforts, ambitions, and standards of success for the entrepreneurship community across Canada.”
A number of representatives from Kamloops Innovation will be heading to Vancouver on Wednesday, November 4th to attend the ceremony.
