Hummingbird Drones has been nominated for the Premier’s People’s Choice Award, which recognizes companies that support the heart of their community. Recruit Right Staffing Solutions has been nominated for the Premier’s People’s Choice as well as Best Concept Award, which celebrates new and creative business ideas.

Small Business B.C. is the province's main small business hub which offers resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Their annual awards ceremony recognises and celebrates new and existing small businesses within the province that support growth in the local and global economy.

“Small Business BC takes great pride in celebrating entrepreneurs and helping them to become more successful. While individually small, these businesses have a big reputation across Canada and around the world,” said CEO at Small Business BC, George Hunter. “I am delighted to see Kamloops’ vibrant business community entering the Small Business BC Awards to be recognized for their achievements both locally and globally."

Winners will received the Premier’s Prize, worth $1,500 cash, and will have a one year all access pass to Small Business B.C. education resources and one-on-one business mentorship support.

“Small businesses are the backbone of communities across BC. The Premier’s People’s Choice Award is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate a small business that goes the extra mile for its neighbours,” said B.C. Premier Christy Clark.

Members of the public are invited to cast their votes until November 30th. The top 10 companies will be announced on December 11th. The top 10 will then submit a detailed application to the judges and the top 5 will compete for first place during a 10 minute, Dragon’s Den style pitch.

Winners for each category will be announced on February 25th, 2016 at the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel.
