Kamloops' Own Gavin Dodd Wins Gold at World Competition

Kamloops’ own Gavin Dodd took gold at the 2015 Trampoline Gymnastics World Age Group Competition in Odense, Demark over the weekend.

The 12-year-old faced some stiff competition but ultimately defeated the other top contenders, Isa Deveev from Russia and Zak Perzamanos from Great Britain, who both tied for second place.

Dodd began competing at the bright age of six at the Kamloops Gymnastics Trampoline Centre, where he continues to train.

“It was really cool to be able to win the medal and just really cool to see how everything worked,” said Dodd.

At Gymnastics B.C.’s 2015 Awards and Scholarship Reception Dodd was named National Level Male Athlete of the Year.
