Over 150 figure skaters will be competing in Kamloops over the weekend.
The Kamloops Skating Club is hosting the 2016 Okanagan Region Championships.
The competition will see 179 skaters from 16 clubs compete. Clubs as far north at 100 Mile House, and Vernon and Armstrong will be attending.
Kamloops Skating Club President Andrea Veitch has been hard at work organizing the event.
“We’ve had to secure hotel rooms and flights, paper work, we have 15 judges and officials coming in … you need to make sure we have the proper power supply, the proper music system,” said Veitch.
The competition begins at noon on Friday February 12th and runs until noon on Sunday February 14th.
The event will be held at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre, Admission to the event is free.
