Over 31,000 passengers travelled through the Kamloops Airport in January.
The Kamloops Airport released its monthly numbers which shows a 10.3 per cent increase of travelers this January compared to the same month last year.
The airport recorded 31,323 travelers this January compared to 28,026 last January.
Kamloops Airport Managing Director Fred Legace, says tourism was a big factor in the increase in travelers.
“The low Canadian dollar combined with excellent winter conditions is bringing travelers from across Canada, the United States and other international locations as well,” he said in a press release.
The airport also saw an increase of 17 per cent in Visual Flight Rules with more private aircrafts bringing visitors in for the ski resorts.
Although posting high numbers, it did not outdo December’s number as the airport saw 32,221 travellers the previous month.
