UPDATE: The City of Kamloops have also announced road closures. The closures will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, but times may change as filming is finished. All businesses will remain open for pedestrian traffic.
As Kamloops morphs into fictional town Angel Grove for the upcoming Power Rangers movie, residents may experience some road blocks.
A notice of filming, released by the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Area, warns of street closures between April 13 and 22.
Certain blocks will be closed as scenes of the movie will be filmed.
“These are ballpark times. The production crew are aiming to keep the streets and sidewalks open as much as possible,” a press release said.
Certain shots, including drone shots, will momentarily prohibit pedestrians from accessing the block but those found waiting will be given a Downtown Gift Certificate as a token of appreciation from production crews.
Production assistants will be on hand to direct pedestrian traffic.
