Select soccer fields closed due to rain in Kamloops

Three sports fields in Kamloops have been closed due to heavy rainfall over the weekend.

As of Tuesday afternoon, soccer fields at McArthur Island Park, Singh Street Park, and West Highlands Park have been closed until further notice.

City of Kamloops Parks staff determined that the soccer fields close to ensure public safety, as well as to protect the turf from damage.

All other soccer and ball fields, including the artificial sports field at Hillside Stadium will remain open for play.

Staff will inspect the fields on Wednesday morning and will update on the conditions before noon on Wednesday.
