Kamloops RCMP have confirmed an organized crime group originating in the Lower Mainland is operating in Kamloops.
Police said members of "The Wolfpack" have established a faction in Kamloops, bringing illicit drugs, firearms and violence with them.
Through on-going investigations and search warrants, Kamloops RCMP were able to link gang activity in Kamloops to a man in Surrey.
With the assistance of the Combine Forces Special Enforcement Unit – British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Kamloops RCMP executed a search warrant on a Surrey residence on May 28.
Police found various illicit drugs inside the home, including several hundred manufactured pills — Oxycodone and what appears to be Fentanyl — four ounces of cocaine and seven pounds of marijuana. Police also discovered a long rifle and about $25,000.
Michael Alexander Ross, 27, faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possessing a firearm when prohibited.
The RCMP continue to investigate the Wolfpack and other organized crime groups in the city.
