A 54-year-old male has been arrested and is facing numerous charges, including Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public and Uttering Threats, for sharpening his knife on a city bus in Kamloops. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 18th. He was previously known to police in Kamloops.
At 7:20 p.m. on April 17th, BC Transit contacted the Kamloops RCMP to report that a man on the bus was sharpening his knife and making other passengers feel uncomfortable.
The driver asked the man to get off the bus and the male threatened the driver.
The bus pulled over on Landsdowne Street and police attended the scene and entered the bus. Police arrested the male without incident. Police found a four-inch knife and sharpener in the man's pocket. The man is being held in custody until he appears in court on Tuesday.
