UPDATE: RCMP believe Oak Road fire to be suspicious

(UPDATE: April 20th @ 11:10 a.m.) - After an investigation, Kamloops RCMP believe the fire that broke out a home in the 200 block of Oak Road to be suspicious.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.

Kamloops RCMP is asking anyone who taped the fire to contact Cpl. Buliziuk at 250-828-3000.

(Original story: April 19th @ 11:10 a.m.) - At 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Kamloops RCMP were alerted to a residential fire in the 200 block of Oak Road.

Kamloops Fire and Rescue attended the scene, but the house was quickly engulfed in flames.

All five people in the residence at the time of the fire made it out safely and the flames were contained within an hour.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and investigators are currently on scene to determine whether the fire is suspicious or not.

Anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area early on Wednesday morning is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
