The Kamloops RCMP are looking for video footage or witnesses of a drive-by shooting that took place early Friday morning.
According to a news release, Mounties were called to the 2100-block of 10th Street just after 6 am for a report of shots fired at a house with an older model silver Jetta seen leaving the scene.
Frontline officers and the Southeast District Police Dog Service responded in an effort to locate the suspect and suspect vehicle.
“The suspect vehicle has since been located a short distance from the shooting scene, on 13th Street however the suspects remain outstanding,” states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP in the news release.
“While the investigation is in its infancy, this event has all the earmarks of a targeted shooting between parties in conflict.”
S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says no one was injured, however, the RCMP need witnesses to come forward in order to further the investigation.
Investigators are asking anyone who lives in and around 13th Street and 10th Street to review video surveillance between 5:30 am and 6:30 am on Friday for the silver Jetta.
The news release says RCMP ask anyone that might have any information or video, to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at (250) 828-3000 and cite file 2024-12950.
