Flooding concerns were luckily short lived in Kamloops and waters have receded enough for the city to re-open Rivers Trail and the Riverside Park Pier.
The city said Thompson River levels continue to drop since peaking about two weeks ago. Only a minor amount of temporary flood protection measures remain in effect and will be removed as water levels recede further.
Despite all high streamflow advisories being rescinded, the public is still asked to use caution on or near waterways. Boaters should continue to be cautious of extra debris in the river.
Rivers Trail had been closed since May 29th and the pier closed since May 31st due to high water.
