Okanagan Valley hit by earthquake

UPDATE (11:22am): Earthquakes Canada is now estimating that the earthquake that hit Saturday morning had a magnitude of 4.0 and had a depth of 1 kilometre.

ORIGINAL STORY:

People around the Okanagan may have woken up to a bit of a shake this morning.

An earthquake hit around 9:00 a.m. this morning and had a magnitude of 4.2., according to Earthquake Track.

The quake had a five-kilometre depth, but one Kelowna resident said she could feel it in her home.

Debra Penney, a resident of East Kelowna told KelownaNow she heard a strange sound Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m., and noticed that her books on her bookcase were shaking.
