The provincial government has said that there is now Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) for victims of Saturday’s flash flooding in Cache Creek.
The help is available to homeowners, residential tenants, small business owners, farmers, charitable organizations, and local governments who weren’t able to get insurance to cover the disaster-related losses. Applications for the assistance must be submitted by August 24th to Emergency Management BC. You can find the application form here.

Assessment is underway to assess the impact on Cache Creek, and the Village has confirmed that early assessments show the water and sewer infrastructure has not been damaged. The assessment of the storm system is underway, and the Fire Department is operational.
The previous evacuation order and alert are still in effect for areas in Cache Creek, and on Monday afternoon, a further evacuation order was issued to cover 1302 and 1305 Stanley Park Drive as well as 1495 Stage Road.
