Update (12:22): New York State Police investigators believe Matthew Hutchinson was killed by Colin Kingston in a double murder- suicide. During a press conference Monday, investigators said Kingston and Kelsey Annese had been in a relationship but had recently broken up. Early Sunday morning, Kingston went to Annese's Geneseo residence where he found Hutchinson in the company of Annese. An altercation ensued and both Allese and Hutchinson received fatal stab wounds. Kingston then took his own life.
A North Vancouver man was found dead in a residence in upstate New York Sunday morning.
Matthew Hutchinson, 24, was found dead along with two other people, Kelsey Annese and Colin Kingston.
Geneseo Police Department reported that three deaths had occurred in a home in Geneseo, a town close to the State University of New York (SUNY) where Hutchinson attended school.
Hutchinson was in his senior year of college at SUNY. He played on the school’s hockey team and was studying geography and business. He also volunteered his time at the Geneseo volunteer fire department.
Hutchinson was a former hockey player for the Coquitlam Express Junior A Hockey Club before going down south to pursue his education.
