The Toronto Maple Leafs have currently won two of the first three games of the first round in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
They won their most recent game against the Washington Capitals in over time 4-3.
They only need to win two out of four of their upcoming games against the Capitals, and they'll have made it through the first round.
So what's the big deal?
Great question.
Simply put, the Leafs' track-record is not so hot when it comes to making the playoffs, or simply winning games in general.
The last time they made the playoffs was in the 2012-2013 season.
Also, the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup was in 1967. That's 50 years ago.
Because of this nice round number of a potential half-century anniversary, Leaf fans are rallying.

Since their losing record is much stronger than their winning streak, let's take a look at titles the Leafs have actually won:
* Since its origin in 1917, Toronto has appeared in the playoffs 65 times.
* Toronto has won the Stanley Cup title 13 times.
* Toronto won the Prince of Wales Trophy twice.
* Toronto has won 55 awards in total.
* The highest number of games won in a regular season is 45.
So whether or not the Leafs advance any further, winning 4-3 in overtime has made the quiet, loyal fans stand up and most of all, they're starting to hope.
The Leafs play their next game on Wednesday April 19th at 7 p.m. ET.
