It’s about to be a lot easier for Android users to pay for things.
Starting this week, Android Pay is now available for Canadians to use.

With Android Pay, you can download the app and safely enter your credit card information into it.
Once that happens, you’ll be able to pay for a number of things by just tapping your phone, or picking the Android Pay option if it’s an online purchase.
A common concern with this type of app is security, but Android says there’s no need to worry.
“When you use your phone to pay in stores, Android Pay doesn’t send your actual credit or debit card number with your payment,” reads the Android website. “Instead we use a virtual account number to represent your account info, so your card details stay safe and secure.”
Not every bank is setup to work with Android pay, so some customers will be left in the dark, but so far Bank of Montreal, CIBC and Scotiabank are all participating banks.
Tangerine will be added to the list of banks that the app works with soon.
You’ll be able to use the app at a number of Canadian institutions, including Tim Horton’s, Real Canadian Superstore, Sears, Petro-Canada, Loblaws and more.
