Travellers on the Coquihalla Highway might be getting more than they bargained for this week with predictions of a large amount of snow.
On Tuesday, Environment Canada says 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected to fall.
Over the summit of Coquihalla Highway, from Hope to Merritt, a snowfall amount of up to 25 cm is expected by Wednesday morning.
Snow will taper off after that but is expected to intensify again on Thursday and Friday with further accumulation.
The conditions will likely make travel difficult and visibility may be reduced thanks to the heavy snow.
Drivers should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and use winter tires and chains.
