Hello Friends! Happy holidays! I wish you and yours so much love, laughter, and joy that your heart continues to smile throughout the coming year. I think a lot of us have been rethinking the gifting process. Knowing that time… Being present... Is the most cherished treasured. The fun and glee of presents under the tree (Dr. Suess coming out) are wonderful for sure, I get it. How do you feel about re-gifting things? Sure, let’s say material things... Something you won’t use, so you give it to another who will. Not a terrible thing, but it can make us feel a bit weird. Maybe even a little guilt because someone gifted that to us, and we’re giving it away.
Let’s dig deeper... Spiral down the rabbit hole with me friends... I’ll make tea 😉. Are we mindful of what we re-gift emotionally? I often re-gift stones (pretty ones that sparkle) that call to me to be given away and always tell the person I’m giving them to, to do the same should the time arrive. I was once re-gifted a stone after someone did the same... It travelled through three people and ended back with me. Kinda cool! I’ve been pondering what I re-gift without realizing I am... A bad mood... A drama-filled story that doesn’t need to be repackaged and retold... A sadness that is mine alone to carry. I do them all... Until now. I am consciously trying to wrap so carefully the emotions and energy I want to re-gift to others in my circle. LOVE... Imagine it in a beautifully handcrafted box with light beams seeping through the artistic swirls in the pattern... A little latch that takes tenderness to open. That’s a gift worth keeping and re-gifting over and over and over again. Or a fun story that makes the soul smile at its memory... Re-gift that. Sometimes I think we forget that our words are our gift... Our time is our gift... Our energy our gift. Spend some time rewrapping those gems and give them... Windfall style!!! Don’t be a Grinch...
