Hello Friends! How are you!?
Is your immediate response... ‘busy... so busy!’? I hear you... often it’s an excuse for not being well, for not making your health a priority, for not putting yourself first, for not making time to breathe life into YOUR life (if that makes sense).
While driving to the studio I sometimes listen to audio books, a segment of “The Art of Simple Living” by Shunmyo Masuno touched me profoundly … when he asked the monks about simplifying a busy life, they did not know the word ‘busy’ nor did they have a Japanese character to symbolize it.
The closest they could create was a mash up of two characters: LOSE and HEART! Ugh... wow! So, they summarized (as I am here) to say you are too busy means you have no room in your heart!
As a community we share so many ideas and philosophies bouncing thought bubbles around like balloons at a birthday party.
When we started to express words that could replace ‘busy’ the results couldn’t help but be put into practice. Let’s explore... How are you? I’m thriving, you? How are you? Productive, you? How are you? Living in abundance, you?
What if we slowly remove the word busy from our usual response... it’s almost this societal badge of honor to be ‘busy’... to lose heart... (insert wistful sigh).
Unbusy your mind, your body, your soul simply by adapting new phrases.
A few months ago, I wrote about priorities, people often say ‘I don’t have time’, a small change to ‘that’s not a priority’ can really make one reassess their life.
So, let’s try it here too... I’m not so so so so busy.... I’m thriving baby! Don’t lose heart, make space in your heart to be abundant, space in your mind to be productive, space in your body to be healthy!
