Interested in sponsoring this great event?  Please email: [email protected] WHAT YOU'LL BE SUPPORTING BY ATTENDING CRABFEST The Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak has identified two specific programs that proceed from Crabfest 2018 will go towards. The first is the Starfish Backpack Program, a collaborative effort between Kamloops Rotary, the United Way, School District 73 and the Kamloops Food Bank. Our goal is to purchase up to 20 new backpacks for the 2017/2018 school year, at a cost of $11,000. The $11,000 will be used to not only purchase the backpacks but to also fill those 20 backpacks with breakfast, lunch and dinner for every weekend of the school year. More information on the Starfish Backpack program here: http://kamloopsfoodbank.org/.../starfish-backpack-program/ The second program is Power Start, offered through the Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops in select elementary schools throughout Kamloops. The program is aimed at supporting vulnerable families to ensure children are transported to school on time and are fed a nutritious breakfast so they are better prepared for a day of learning. The Boys and Girls Club is in need of a new bus to expand the Power Start program to another school for the 2017/2018 school year and has requested $40,000 to assist with the purchase.
