Brilliant and Quirky - Pioneer Stories You’ve Not Heard Before
May Q. Wong is the author of recently released "City in Colour: Rediscovered Stories of Victoria’s Multicultural Past.” Victoria, BC has long been known as being "more English than the English", but it wasn't always this way. At its beginnings Victoria was a diverse and accepting city. "City in Colour" is Wong's way of speaking out against the rhetoric of fear regarding immigrants & refugees. Wong is also the author of "A Cowherd in Paradise" (2012).
This event is free but registration is recommended as space is limited. Register online with your library card at www.tnrl.ca or by contacting the library at [email protected] or 250-372-5145.
