2018-09-15 13:00:00 2018-09-15 14:00:00 America/Vancouver CanGo Grannies Kamloops The Kamloops CanGo Grannies invite the public to a free presentation by Idah Mukuka, Senior Advisor to the Stephen Lewis Foundation on Saturday, September 15th from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 360 Nicola Street (at the corner of Nicola Street and 4th Avenue). Idah, a grandmother from Zambia, will talk about her experiences as a field representative of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, working with a variety of grassroots grandmothers groups to improve the lives of the grandmothers and the grandchildren they are raising. Idah is a talented storyteller and captivating speaker. We hope that many people will take advantage of the opportunity to hear about the changes occurring in Africa because of the AIDS epidemic and the grandmothers’ responses to it.  The story is interesting, heart-wrenching and heart-warming. The CanGo Grannies are hosting other Grandmother groups from the BC interior to a Gathering of Grandmothers from Friday, September 14 to Saturday, September 15.  If anyone is interested in joining the group or finding out more about it, they are welcome to attend. For more information, contact Ann Milliken by phone at 250-374-0114 or by email at [email protected] St Paul's Cathedral 360 Nicola St [email protected]
