2018-05-25 09:00:00 2018-05-25 16:00:00 America/Vancouver We Care Run 2018 Grand Ultra Marathon Runner, Wendy Brown, is excited to raise funds by running May 25-26: from Cache Creek to Riverside Park and the Rivers Trail. Wendy is looking forward to stepping out onto the highway one more time for the Pregnancy Care Centre of Kamloops, B.C. Join Wendy along the route on Friday as she runs all 84 km in one day, double marathon! On Saturday run the Rivers Trails; meet at Riverside Park Rotary Band Shell for 9 am. Sign up at www.mypregnancychoices.ca/forward.html Make a donation and in the message box, let us know your plans for the event. $25 per person/$90 per team Two time National Champion in Track and Field, Ultra, and Grand Ultra Marathon Runner, Wendy Brown's goal is to make a difference. Last year Wendy ran Cache Creek to Kamloops over three days, then inspired others in the fun run/walk at Riverside Park and Rivers Trails. In 2018 she has upped her performance level, running the whole distance in one day. Wendy has a long history of philanthropy. A week after the 2012 Babine Mill explosion in her hometown of Burns Lake, BC, Wendy chose to step up to the plate, raising funds for the victims and their families while she lived in Fort St. John. Not long after completing this project, Wendy started to help another great cause, that being the 61K Ootsa Lake Bible Camp Run, crossing the finish line in 8 hours 30 minutes. This led her into the greatest journey of her life-- The Run for Recovery, June 2013. Blessed with a chance to give back to the city of Fort St. John, BC, she ran 357 Kilometers in 12 days (entire Peace Region) raising awareness and funds for a drug and alcohol treatment centre to be built. Wendy continues with running to raise awareness and funds for great causes, and is looking forward to stepping out onto the highway for the Pregnancy Care Centre of Kamloops again for the 2018 We Care Run.
