Meet Dave. He's originally from Whitby, Ontario and has lived in Kamloops since 1992.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Well, this is a loaded question. I'd have to admit the wife, even when she's mad at me then come to our adult children, their partners and of course, the grandkids!
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Surplus Herby's... I'm a fly fisher!
Describe yourself in one word.
Unique.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
To L.A. to see my grandson because someone is preventing him from coming for a visit to Canada.
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
No question... Fly fishing and fly tying.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Discovering entrepreneurship. Once you get the bug, it's hard to go back be being an employee.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Fishing. My dad was from a small town on a large river that flowed into Georgian Bay... when we were young (me and my brother) we would go fishing on the river with my Uncle and cousins and sometimes we would make our way out to the Bay... it was the foundation of what I immerse myself into today.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
My wife and I are regular contributors to Food Bank, Big Brothers and other local charity drives. I also spend time in the hockey season doing play-by-play broadcasts on the internet for a local rep hockey team.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Religion in politics. More blood has been spilt in the name of religion and power throughout the centuries than for any other reason and it continues to plague the world.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Pass lake or my fly tying table.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
An overhead Xwalk across the summit connector to the university... Someone is gonna bite the green weeny there some day and a driver is going to get the blame.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
Sports and easy access to the wilderness.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Visit the Queen Charlotte Islands and fish my arm off during all the peak seasons for salmon and steelhead
2. Golf Augusta
3. Build a million dollar business, sell it, retire my bride and live happily ever after in a near tropical climate that isn't the US for three to five months of the year... Australia or New Zealand!

I used to have a body like a Greek God.

Personal magnetism.

'You can't push a rope'

Don't start vast projects with a half-vast idea.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Jack Nicklaus. So accomplished, a true gentleman, smart, articulate and loves to fish.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It is fuel for the local economy.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Grade 5, I skipped it.

Kamloops is a great place to live ... Small city living, conveniently located for transportation, community conscious, generous people and easy access to the great outdoors.
